We got to sit and chat and I went for a stroll with my Jake who's eleven or so, and very much into RPGs and warhammer and so on. We played Scotland Yard, and Pit. I like it that I can say things like "it was a bit small this year as we had 'only ten people' come." I do like my family.
My cousins seem to have liked the Santa letter. I got some pretty swank gifts (like money for a hat!)
I went over my gender issues with my mom in some detail. Things went well. She's trying to find a PFLAG for the Okanagan.
There will remain the issue of how the rest of my family is going to take this. I have an aunt and uncle who are very nice people but may hear the news... and then explode. Fortunately, they are a long, long way from here, so BC should be safely outside of the blast radius. The rest of my family should be okay, but probably a little shocked.
Good lord, here I am, having overcome one of the big challenges (i.e. talking to Mum) and looking for another problem. Heaven help me should I be so unfortunate to actually resolve all my issues - I'd be lost! (this sounds like a resolution in the works)
So today I get to sit around, take my dog out for a walk IN THE SNOW and enjoy the fireplace. (And phone a friend at UBC-O about defed.)
I'm going to spend the next few days (until nineday of week zero, also known as January 1st) considering the last year, what happened in it, and what has changed. If you like, comment about yourself or myself or both or whomever.
I'm thinking of not only new years resolutions, but also a plan to put them into effect.
I will be back on the 27th. See you.
