2012 Resolutions in Review

I just took the giant chart of progress tracking down from my bedoom wall. This last year's resolutions was notable in that the results were clearly quantifiable and trackable. This, combined with clear goals, is a clearly superior method.
1 - HEALTH
1a Two 20-minute incidents of cardio 2+ times per week 48 weeks a year, barring illness.
A+
There are a few gaps in the record keeping, but I think I pulled 95%-100% on this. Not to mention supplementary cardio, especially once I got my bike out. Indeed - getting my blood pumping is now a standard part of my weekly routine. The only two interruptions were getting sick twice (did only one on those two weeks) and three weeks where filming cut me down to once a week.
1b. Meditation or relaxation. Once per week for 20 minutes modified to twice a week for ten minutes.
D-F
Seriously did not do this. Clearly this needs to me more clearly articulated and better supported.
2 - LEADERSHIP
Lead seven projects through to completion, 3 using PM software. One must not be film
B
- Ran "Go Cause Trouble: Project Management for Progressive Nerds" until we decided that the structure wasn't working
- Preproduction (and part of post) on Bad Parenting, with a lot of support
- 2/4-person housing search,
- Ever secret door from initiation into being absorbed into a different larp project
- The Switch - Teaser, preproduction and production, all done
- Postproduction on A New Year's Pursuit, done (during "production" I did not exactly use PM and paid the price)
- *Line* Preproduction on "Tick", in progress (with Anders)
- A increasingly large amount of Trembling Void is being run by breaking things into chunkable Project Management
I don't know enough about project management software to use it properly and am going to arrange tutoring to that end
3. FRUGALITY
3a. Cut eating out down to 4.50 per meal for 163 days. Later revised to $5 per meal for 183 days.
A++ Total success and then some. Stopped counting after 194 days I'm sure that I pulled 200. I no longer eat out habitually. I've saved at least $1500 dollars as a consequence.
3b - Decide what to do with the car by Imbolc and implement by the Equinox.
A
I did it - but that meant keeping the car insured and only using it for work. Later on, I moved to a place with a large concrete pad where I can store the car when uninsured. And then I also stopped buying a bus pass, switching to transit tickets and riding my bike. Saved a hell of a lot of money.
4. DEVELOP SKILLS
(some September deadlines were shuffled later when "The Switch" became a much larger project.
A++
4a. Acting: 24/48 hours.
I blew through this. I've taken 156.8 hours of acting classes or self-directed and focused practice.
4b. Crossbow 4/10 hours
D
5 hours complete.
Some progress but not much. Mostly book learning.
4c. Strength 15/35 hours
A
Done, albeit behind schedule, but also ulimately in excess of target
4d. Physical Skills
Seriously incomplete. Also: an overly optimistic and rather inspecific goal.
4e. Miscellaneous physical sills - 37 hours
B
30 complete
4 - Bonus
Other skills
21+ hours spent studying project management
32 hours spent on social assertiveness
Learned how to make films
5. TRANSITION
5a. 48 hours of electrolysis or run out of beard
A++
Sadly, I'm still going. 66 hours and still going strong.
Listened to Anathem, The Difference Engine and Moby Dick on tape.
And now I really want to hear something concerned with social justice.
5 - Bonus - Build a totem object (like the top in Inception) to remind me that I've changed my damn sex.
No bonus
Didn't do it.
6. RELAX
6a. Vacation: Take 4 weeks of actual vacation - 3 consecutive days of not doing work for more than an hour a day.
F
Completed 10 days out of 28.
6b. Spend 72 hours making art.
F
Spent 28 hours making art.
7. SEXY
Do something sexual twice per moon.
F.
I did five planned sexy things. Of which only two fell under the same moon.
So. Success on exercise, leadership, frugality, specific skill aquisition, and having hot needles stuck in my face. Fail on meditation, vacation, making art, shooting a crossbow and doing fun sexy things. This was the year of burning midnight oil. So 2013's theme is going to be "Self Care"
