My favorite parts of wearing a hat:

3rd - the way it keeps the rain out of my face
2nd - tipping it to people
1st - taking it off in respect when I enter someone's house or business

Indeed. So many surprising qualities of wearing a hat.

Plus it has the added benefit of keeping your head warm and your hair from flying into your eyes in the wind. Well not your hair right now; it would take some pretty spectacular wind to get your hair in your eyes, but hair in general in eyes in general.
