I would like to solicit your advice or assistance in the matter of costuming.

Do you know where I can get the following items of costuming for the following costumes. I would much rather not purchase new merchandise when it comes from dodgey corporations.


1. For the 2007 VCON Sci-Fi convention in October, I am trying to put together this costume
(I'm feeling ambitious.)

- I will need a green-and-gray tank top or muscle shirt, or whatever they're called
- some sort of lead as to how the hell I'm supposed to make (or buy?) shiny baggy (vinyl? ) pants
- a recommendation re: dying and cutting of hair
- anything else you might recommend


2. A year from then, if not before, I wish to assemble this costume
- I have the suit, but will have to dye it a bit and add some yellow trim

3. I have the basics of this costume, but am looking for some old aviator glasses - and have found these surprisingly difficult to acquire

For cutting the hair, just take a picture of Starbuck in to the stylist. I'll help you dye the underlayer once you do that. Sound good?

That army surplus store on East Broadway a few blocks before commercial might be able to help you out. I think the shiny baggy pants might prove difficult they'll almost certainly have the muscle shirt, some form of fatigue/cargo/military pants that could be adapted and most likely even a pair of those sunglasses. Maybe. But it's an idea.
