LARP Opportunity
Jun. 26th, 2008 12:18 amAnthony Walmsey, of Masquerade fame, will soon be presenting a larp that shall be a cross between very casual roleplaying, and a flash mob.
There will be regular meet-ups, in public places around Vancouver. Participants will be given a marker to designate them as such. They may keep this marker on whenever they like and convene as they see fit - some flash-meeting-plots can be arranged by the storyteller, or by the players on their own time.
The setting is contemporary Vancouver in a world in which the public has known the supernatural exists ever since World War Two. Many are still not happy about it. Think Neil Gaiman or Anita Blake.
I will be playing Sgt. Janet Kostovic, a police officer assigned to investigative support in crimes involving thaumateurgy. Think bylaw enforcement, vice, illegal traficking in demons, shaking down suspects. She is dealing with the problems caused by her recently-developed tendancy to sporadically and involuntarily suck bits of other people's memories into her own head, incorporating them into her own personality, precipitating something of an identity crisis.
Janet often works alongside a social worker (played by Navi) who does things like take werewolf children out of their human homes before they change and eat their family.
