This Saturday is COPE's Issues Conference
COPE's Issues '06 Conference takes place this Saturday, November 4, 1pm to 5pm at Kiwassa Neighbourhood House, 2425 Oxford Street, Vancouver. Kiwassa is located just off of Nanaimo, a couple of blocks north of Hastings.
David Eby, a lawyer with Pivot Legal Society, will be the keynote speaker at Issues ’06. Eby recently co-authored a report on behalf of Pivot focusing on the affordable housing crisis in Vancouver and how this detrimentally affects the lives of our city’s poorest residents entitled, Cracks in the Foundation: Solving the Housing Crisis in Canada’s Poorest Neighbourhood. The report can be downloaded from Pivot’s website at: http://www.pivotlegal.org/Publications/reports.htm
Since COPE is a diverse, membership-driven organization, we need you to attend Issues '06 in order to plan COPE's progressive agenda for the coming year. We are hoping for a wide ranging discussion of hot topic issues, allowing all members the opportunity to have your voice heard and to learn more.
