So everyone knows, The Next Now, my for-profit larp project, is on "indefinite hold." That is to say that it is not just postponed, but shelved, scrubbed.

The problem is this: I can, under ideal circumstances make $1,920 per month in gross profits. From this, I must pay for a variety of things which will drop this number to at best $1,280 to pay myself and, maybe, one staffperson. Like I said, these are the most generous estimates. It's far more likely that it would simply lose money.

Still, I want to do sometihng interesting. There's Rhino Party stuff and culture-jamming is cool, but I feel like some RP. I may see if I can still cobble togethre a Sci-Fi game of some sort, but with sights set a bit lower...

...thinking, thinking.

The first thing that comes to mind is that Vancouver has all this futuristic architecture - and this goes double for SFU. I have had at least a dozen classes over the site of a shootout on "Cylon-occupied Caprica," then adjourned to the cafeteria over the "Delphi Museum." BG is foremost on my mind in visual references, but there's also bad Arnie movies, and eight kinds of other stuff. I don't want to run a BG larp, but I would be interested in ripping off their choice of locations.

...thinking, thinking.
