Today started with me being blunt with a classmate about wanting to take extra time on the lab because I felt that that was the best way to learn to do it, rather than rush it as I felt the group was doing.
At noon, I had a chat with a co-worker to followon my perceptions of workplace hostility.
Around tea-time, I had a two-hour meeting with the BC-CFS where I said things like "If this doesn't get fixed, we're leaving" and "the fact that you claim no knowledge of the wrongdoing is actually worse than if you said you were directly involved because in the latter case you could stop it from happening."
In the evening, I went to the happy hour at the Kishu near Granville station and when I was told that what I'd ordered was not part of the happy hour special, despite my interpretation of the menu, and that of the waiter, to the contrary, I refused to pay the incorrect price despite their claims that there was nothing they could do. (I remember some Czech places that ran a similar racket - they'd say "oops, I guess we gave you the menus with the old prices - silly us!")
At night, I went to the electrologist and said that I was transitioning and comparing electrolysis to laser and so would probably not be back for quite a while, at which point Jule Paxton (of Precision Electrolysis, conveniently locatde by both the 135 and Granville station), recommended a place to go for lasers - which would likely cost her money in the long run, which leads me to the conclusion that she is an honest businesswoman.
And it turns out that electrolysis doesn't hurt as much as I'd thought.

I'm getting really good at being direct. I'm proud of myself; very proud
