Here's a quick and fun way to brush up your conflict-resolution skills:

Take a TV show where people are always angry at each other, and often shouting or being manipulative, then take do a quick roleplay with two or more people. Each takes a character role, and tries to resolve their disagreements, or at least hear each-other's perspective.

Black rock Rangers. Able to turn an edgy jerryspringershow risk scene into mutual laughter and restored respects. It's a Zen Bouncer roleplay with verbal weaponry used for defusing hostility. Just what you seem to be invoking:>
