Thanksgiving/Angstgiving dinner with the labeled/unlabled crowd. Fun. Large amounts of ethical food. Yams. Wine. More yams. Glad I went. Glad I made tom yim stew.

A word from the ministry of culture - Thanks-Giving

In the spirit of the Prakusadin, and on behalf of the standing subcomittee on "Thanks-Giving" (mini-culture, vicemini-chronology, department of holidays), I/we would like to encourage you to enjoy and participate in a day of reflection on the assorted benefits in terms of material and decision-making afforded by the organic solidarity of The Collective.

This is a homey Sunday afternoon. Autumn sunlight falls in through the window and there are birds outside. I'm wearing comfortably warm clothes. There's a big pot of Thai stew on the stove, an open book of integral calculus, erudite commentary on CBC, me fiddling with one thing or another, and plans for a collective dinner in the evening.

Normally, I would be in my mother's house in Kelowna. This is the first time I've been in Vancouver.

This is good, as is Kelowna, and I am happy, but I need more people around me.

I like living with people on the whole. I loved rez, and all I have to do is re-create the aspects of that which I enjoyed. This is surprisingly simple: I can choose who to live with, and can agree to join or not depending on how we keep to the rules. So then, anybody else in this situation?
